What is Pix-Yu?
Pix-Yu is a virtual space disk where anyone can share his/her own life experiences as events, appointments, meetings, travels, holidays, weddings, birthdays and much more by uploading unlimited pictures. Pix-Yu allow the user to share pics with his family, parents and with the most popular social networks of internet.
What do I do to get started?
Very easy! Start with registering yourself. The registration involves the digitation of only three fields (username, password and email). After that you will have to confirm the registration by clicking on the link that you'll receive by email. Once the registration is done, you will gain access to all the services offered by Pix-Yu and you will be able to modify at pleasure your profile.
What the events are?
Do you remember a calendar? Ok, think the same way, and add your pictures. Suppose you've done a travel in Africa from the 21st of October 2007 until the 2nd November 2007. The first step will be creating an event called for example 'Journey in Eritrea'. So you'll have to insert the name of the resort you have visited, choose if making the event public or private, insert a description of the journey and, if you want, add the tags to associate with the event so that the users could easily find you by research. Once this step completed, you will be able to add all the pictures you want. In this way you will be able to subdivide your photographic journey with sections at your pleasure.
What does public or private event mean?
A public event will give the visit permission to every Pix-Yu user and so your pictures could be posted on other sites or blogs too. On the contrary, private event means that the relevant pictures of the event will be visible only from the list of your friends. 'Your friends' are considered all the users that are registered on Pix-Yu and belong to your list of contacts.
Can I delete the events and the pictures?
Sure! In the very moment you decide to delete your works from Pix-Yu, you can do it. You will be able to eliminate an event, or, simply, delete a picture that you don't like.
Can I add title and description to a picture?
Sure! Just click on the picture that you want to edit and modify title and description by the link 'Edit Photo'.
Are there limits on file sizes or file types for uploads?
With your account, you can upload files up to 5MB in size. Pix-Yu officially supports JPEGs, non-animated GIFs, and PNGs.
How do I share my photos?
Here are some ways to share:
- Blog any of your own public photos.
- Send individual photos to people, either as attachments to an email or as a link to a Pix-Yu page.
Can I upload pictures containing nudity, copyrighted images or anything that isn't mine?
No, you can't upload pictures containing celebrities, nudity, artwork or copyrighted images. If we find you doing that, your account will be deleted and we'll take appropriate action, which may include reporting you to the authorities.
When will I receive a report by email?
When a user comments one of your pictures or when you receive a message from another member of Pix-Yu you will have the event notified by email. If you don't want to receive any email, you can change the configuration of the report directly from your profile. Anyway we suggest to keep active the reports for keeping you up to date of the activity of the pictures.
Does only the basic account exist?
In this beta version yes. But soon the paid accounts PRO (both SILVER and GOLD) will be available.
